Catholic Schools Week January 29 - February 4
The theme for National Catholic Schools Week 2017 is "Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service." Ursuline will be observing CSW with the following activities:
Monday, January 30 - Student Appreciation Day with breakfast in the Tea Room for all students Tuesday, January 31- Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day
Thursday, February 2 - Parent Appreciation Day
Friday, February 3 - Ursuline Pride Day - students can dress in Ursuline attire (quarter zip, sweatshirt, athletic jackets, sweat pants etc.)

| Re-enrollment News All families were emailed a letter from President Whiting regarding re-enrollment for the 2017-2018 school year, including next year's tuition. The deadline for indicating your intent to re-enroll has been extended to Monday, February 6, 2017. The link to the online re-enrollment form was included in the letter and is also available here. Please contact the Business Office with any questions about the re-enrollment process.
Library News
Mrs. Rose O'Koren, school librarian, has made the difficult decision to leave Ursuline Academy as we begin the second semester. We know this was a difficult decision for her and wish to thank her for her service to the school. Mr. Chris Buccelli, afternoon librarian, has assumed this full-time position for the remainder of the school year.
Upcoming Coffee with the President and Principal The Administration will be hosting a casual evening reception for parents with Principal Rosann Whiting and Principal Michelle Smith, along with other members of the administration team in March. More information will follow.

| UA Robotics Team Visits STEM Center at Northeastern
On Thursday, January 17, the Ursuline Academy Robotics Team was invited to spend the day the STEM Center and Electrical Engineering Department at Northeastern University. The students were able to view some of the research projects in the Labs and try some of the simulations. One of the projects involved a robot named Valkyrie which is being constructed and programmed in conjunction with NASA and Umass Lowell for a trip to Mars! The Northeastern students were impressed with the level and depth of the discussion with our team.
Ursuline to Perform with Xaverian
On Thursday, February 2, the Xaverian Brothers High School and Ursuline Academy vocal performing groups will join together to perform Together in Harmony: A Collaborative Concert. The event will be held at 7 p.m. in Xaverian's Bisson Foyer at 800 Clapboardtree Street in Westwood. The concert is free and open to the public. Read More. | |

| Ursuline Relay Team Sets State Record
Saturday January 21 was a milestone day at State Relays for Ursuline's 50 shuttle relay team. Last year, at this same meet, our Ursuline team set a new state record in this event. This year they bettered that mark by .51 seconds. Kelly Cheevers, Caitlin Lewis, Jackie Hayes and Ashley Thomas (pictured right) lowered their elite time from 25.95 to 25.44. Congrats to the team and Coach Dave Swanson for this achievement.

| Fore the Girls Golf Tournament 2017 Now that the new year is here, it's time to start planning for our 25th Annual Fore the Girls Golf Tournament to benefit our athletic programs. We will be having our initial committee meeting on Thursday, February 2, at 6 p.m. at our offices at 112 Lowder Street. Past committee members are encouraged to attend and bring a friend. Many hands make light work! The tournament is scheduled to be held at Wollaston Golf Club on Monday May 22.

Northeastern University's Cool Women/Hot Careers Event will be held on Saturday, February 18th. Northeastern's Society of Women Engineers is hosting this event for high school students (especially sophomores & juniors in high school) who love math and science to learn more about the field of engineering and meet some of our female engineering students.
