Prayer for Lent
God of Mercy, I feel my heart overflowing with your tenderness. I sense your loving touch deep within my soul. I ask for your help in my weakness that I might be faithful to your word and I am so grateful that your mercy for my failings is as strong as your unbounded love for me.
Amen.

Parking Lot Reminders!
The pick-up and student parking area has become increasingly unsafe for our students. Disciplined driving and appropriate parking lot etiquette are not being exercised. Therefore, we are working with the Dedham Police Department to identify our best solution regarding these safety issues. In the meantime, we ask that you review and adhere to the following guidelines. These rules are in place to ensure the safety of our girls. Your cooperation is important in this process.

  • There is a single pick-up line that requires all drivers to stay in place in the cue. Drivers are asked to move as far to the left if sitting on Lowder Street to allow other cars to pass and continue on Lowder Street.
  • All cars are required to stop for students crossing in the crosswalk.
  • All cars must remain in the cue even after your daughter has safely entered the car. Driving to the right of the cue when students are trying to get into their car is unsafe.
  • Please allow student drivers the space to back out of their parking spot and exit.
  • Absolutely no parking in the bus lane or along the rock wall. The town of Dedham takes this very seriously and may issue tickets to any car stopped in those locations. In addition, spring sports are underway and team buses need the bus lane to pick up the girls.

Spanish Exchange Program Planned for 2018
The World Languages Department is excited to announce an exchange program for Ursuline Spanish students for February, 2018 in collaboration with Xaverian Brothers High School. Students who are currently in grades 9-11 are eligible for this trip. This will be the seventh exchange between Xaverian and the Instituto EducaciĆ³n Secundaria Benlliure in Valencia, Spain and we are thrilled to join them. Students will live with host families while in Valencia, attend classes at the school, and visit the sites in the surrounding area. At the end of the visit, the group will travel north to Barcelona to enjoy a few days in this cosmopolitan city. Ursuline participants will host the Spanish students in early October. The approximate cost of the trip is $2,700 which includes all travel, fees and meals except for personal spending money. There is an informational meeting on Wednesday, April 5th at 6:30 pm. at Xaverian Brothers H.S., in Room X101. Interested students and families should plan to attend. Applications and initial deposits will be due April 13th. For more information or to express your interest, please contact Mrs. Elizabeth Achorn.

Nutritionist Presentation Held for All Students

Ursuline Students in all grades attended a presentation this past Wednesday by registered dietitian and nutritionist Andrea Miranda, to help our girls understand how to take steps toward healthier eating, plan meals, review nutrition facts labels and learn tips for eating out. During two separate presentations, one geared for the junior high and one for high school students, the girls were encouraged to choose lean proteins, watch portion sizes, follow the hunger scale, eat breakfast every day, stay hydrated, read nutrition labels, eat healthy when eating out, and control stress.  Thank you to the UA Guidance and Athletic departments for facilitating this important discussion for the students.
