The 5th annual Brescia Ball on Saturday, Nov. 17 was a great success. The event is a wonderful evening in celebration of the Academy and recognizes members of the community for their contributions to the school. This year's honorees were Sr. Bridget Haase, o.s.u., Barbara (Gaquin) Brandt '65, P '97, '07 and Kevin Hines, P '93. The Brescia Ball also raised $85,000 for Ursuline. Many thanks to all who joined us in making the evening a success!

Wishes Granted!
Thanks to the Brescia Ball, wishes are being granted across the Ursuline campus for the dedicated faculty and staff of Ursuline. Members of each department on campus compiled a "wish list" of items they could use to better serve our students and community. Several of these wishes have already been granted:

• Brand-new trophy case in the lobby to display awards won by our athletic teams and student groups (pictured below)
  
• Four TI-Nspire calculators and software for the Math Department
• New desks for Mrs. Leonard's classroom on the lower level
• A new Mac for the Library
  

Why the Brescia Ball?
The Brescia Ball celebrates the legacy of St. Angela Merici, founder of the Order of St. Ursula, which was the first female teaching order.  St. Angela was born in Desenzano del Garda, a town in the Province of Brescia, Italy.

The mission of the Ursuline sisters is to educate, inspire, and empower young women of all classes to be lifelong learners, women of integrity, and responsible leaders committed to the Ursuline tradition of Serviam: “I will serve.”
