Technology in the Classroom
The technology resources at Ursuline Academy have been chosen to seamlessly integrate into the classroom across all disciplines. All classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards and speakers to give teachers the opportunity to enhance lessons and create multimedia presentations. All faculty members are provided with a laptop, giving teachers the opportunity to develop interactive lessons, utilize Web 2.0 tools and collaborate through all disciplines. A portable cart equipped with 25 tablets moves through the various departments throughout the day to further enhance technology integration. The Microsoft Office Suite of Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Publisher are standard applications on all school equipment.

The science wing is equipped with state of the art labs allowing students to perform hands-on experiments. The scientific method comes alive as students design and conduct experiments while examining the principles of biology, chemistry and physics in action! Data gathering, inquiry, interpretation and reporting are done using a portable wireless laptop cart equipped with probes and print capability.
Robotics programming is another aspect of Ursuline Academy’s technology curriculum. Students are introduced to programming in the lower grades and can continue to advance to more complex levels to include Robotics Competition in the Robotics Club.

The foreign language lab is vibrant and engaging, offering students interactive lessons focusing on comprehension, vocabulary and conversation. Various configurations – small groups, one-to-one conversations and web–access give teachers the flexibility to create stimulating and exciting lessons and presentations.
Using MACs, iPods and iPads, students in the Communications and Public Speaking Courses maintain and publish a private newscast and provide videos, podcasts and online interviews of interest to the Ursuline Academy community.
