Parents
Dear Ursuline Parents,
Welcome to the Ursuline Academy Parents' Guild! As The Director of Parent Relations, I work in close partnership with Ursuline parents. I act as a liaison between the Parents' Guild and the Advancement Office. Additionally, I am the person that you want to contact if you are interested in a volunteer opportunity at Ursuline Academy. The Parents' Guild is an all-volunteer, parent organization that typically has 2 couples as co-chairs. Because you are a parent of an Ursuline student, you are automatically a member of Ursuline's Parents' Guild. If you are interested in volunterring, please visit our Volunteer Sign-Up Page!
The Guild usually meets monthly approximately six times per academic year. Last year, guest speakers were invited to speak at some of our meetings about topics that were of interest or concern to parents. This year's Parents' Guild Co-chairs are again planning to incorporate guest speakers into some of monthly meetings. In addition, the Parents' Guild is responsible for a number of events throughout the year. Consequently, I work closely with parent volunteers in order to plan and staff many events throughout the academic year. By attending meetings and/or volunteering for events, your involvement in the Parents' Guild enhances the "Ursuline experience" and presents an opportunity for you to meet other parents who are also committed to their daughters' best interests and their whole-person development.
Since I am an Ursuline alumna and parent of a current student, I would like to convey a few of my own thoughts about Ursuline Academy. First, I can assure you that your daughters will receive a first-rate education that will lay a foundation for future academic achievement and success. Ursuline students develop into strong, independent women. Ursuline emphasizes and instills the importance of maintaining balance between a rigorous academic program and the total development of the student's heart, will and intellect. I found that adherence to this philosophy has served me very well throughout every aspect of my life, namely college, career and family. More importantly, your daughters will go to school in a nurturing environment where many of the friendships that they make will last a lifetime.
Best wishes to you and your daughters for the upcoming academic year. I look forward to personally meeting all of you in the very near future. If I can answer any questions, please do not hesitate to call or email me. You can find my contact information below.
Best Regards,
Terri
