Ursuline Academy is an independent, Catholic, college preparatory school for young women in grades 7-12. Founded in 1946, Ursuline Academy in Dedham operates under the sponsorship of the international network of Ursuline Sisters, the oldest religious teaching order devoted to the education of young women.

Admissions

Our Admissions team welcomes families for tours throughout the year, and we sponsor events designed for students to explore our campus, sit in on classes, and to get to know our community. Ours is a holistic approach to knowing each student as we review qualifications for admissions. ACADEMICS

Ursuline Academy offers a rigorous program of study designed to challenge and inspire students, and our faculty encourage their love of learning, reading, and scholarly exploration in the pursuit of truth. Our graduates are fully prepared to study, analyze, and communicate persuasively to meet the challenges of university work.

LIVING THE MISSION

The values of an Ursuline education– a Catholic education– were established centuries ago when Saint Angela Merici dedicated her life to forming a company of young women engaged in bettering their communities. At Ursuline, we challenge our students to live lives of integrity that reflect the principles of Catholic social teaching, and to be Christ to one another in today’s world. We welcome students of all faiths, and support every student on her spiritual journey.

Ursuline's Collectible Mystery Charms

This year, we are excited to introduce a special experience for our prospective students: Ursuline's collectible mystery charms!

During the admissions process, each time you visit us you'll have the opportunity to collect a set of four unique Ursuline-themed charms. These custom-designed charms are more than just keepsakes -- they're symbols of the spirit, sisterhood, and tradition that make Ursuline so special. Collect all four, and trade duplicates with your friends!

Prospective students who have completed an application by January 15th will be invited to a Collect and Connect Event, where they can trade charms and connect with other students and the Ursuline community.

Convent Steps Charm

Symbolizes: The Convent represents the heart of Ursuline’s history and the journey of learning and growth each student takes.

Challenge: Take a moment to reflect — what environments help you learn, grow, or dream big?

Sweater Charm
“Stand tall in who you are. You’ll be lifted by the ones who walk with you and those that have come before you.”

Symbolizes: The Ursuline Sweater represents sisterhood and belonging, reminding us of the supportive community we share.

Challenge: Pay attention to the people who make you feel seen, welcomed, or supported today.

Bear Charm
“Be bold, be brave, be yourself.”

Symbolizes: The Bear is a symbol of courage at Ursuline, reminding us to face challenges confidently and stand up for who we are.

Challenge: What’s one thing you’re proud of about yourself right now? Say it out loud.

St. Angela Charm
“Lead with love. Teach by example. Stay rooted in faith.”

Symbolizes: Saint Angela, founder of the Ursuline order, inspires us to live with purpose and compassion.

Challenge: Notice where kindness and understanding show up today — in others or in yourself.
