Eighth Grade Trip to Philadelphia The 8th Grade is headed to Philadelphia from May 2-4, 2019 for its annual class trip! Participants will have the chance to learn more about our country's founding documents such as the Constitution, experience a ghost tour, go on a scavenger hunt throughout the city, complete an escape room activity with their class, and more! They will also take part in a special service project with the tour company, Led2Serve, to help the community of Philadelphia. Eighth grade parents, if your daughter would like to attend, please visit this website for registration. A $200 deposit to reserve your daughter's spot is due on November 15. Quebec City Winter Carnival From the Main Office Report Cards Available on Parent Portal First quarter report cards were made available on the Parent/Student Portal on Friday afternoon. All parents should have received an email to this effect. Friendsgiving this Friday On Friday, November 16th, Ursuline will celebrate "Friendsgiving" during all lunch blocks in anticipation of the upcoming holiday. Please bring your own lunch, but if you'd like to bring additional treats, sign up through the spreadsheet that was emailed to you. See Ms. Mayo with any questions. CALENDAR CHANGE: Thanksgiving holiday to be extended Please note that the Thanksgiving break will be extended to include Monday, November 26, the day after the Thanksgiving weekend. Please consider this a gesture of thanks to all of the students and faculty who supported our efforts on the day of Open House. We hope that it helps to ease the travel burden for those families who are traveling for the weekend.

Bears Night Out at Laser Quest Annual Powderpuff Game November 20 The Ursuline community is invited to celebrate the beginning of Thanksgiving break with the traditional Powderpuff Football game between the senior and junior classes on Tuesday, November 20, after school from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on the UA field. Athletics This Week's Fitness Center Schedule Our fitness center is open to all students and faculty this week on Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to take advantage of this open time with our trainer.
Winter Sports Tryouts Students planning on playing a winter sport need to have their paperwork in by November 13th. Tryout information has been posted on the UA website under athletics.
Cross Country Division 5 Race on Saturday On a cold and blustery day, the Ursuline cross-country team traveled to Wrentham on Saturday for the Division 5 Cross Country race. The Ursuline team finished had a solid third-place finish. Senior Lauren Grela came in first place with a very strong race, with the second place finisher 30 seconds behind her. UA Athletes Attend MIAA Swimming and Diving Recognition Breakfast Libby Gormley '19 (left) and Jeanna Gailius '19 joined Coach Paul Bimmler and Athletic Director Mike O'Connor at the MIAA's Inaugural Swimming and Diving Recognition breakfast on November 9th in Franklin. Bears in Action Casey McNamara '19 Named Joslin Diabetes Center's 2019 Youth Ambassador Lowder News is Back! Ms. Schnatterly's Communications Arts class recently produced its second episode of "Lowder News" to share information and updates on all things Ursuline. Sit back and enjoy this inside look at many of UA's clubs, activities and events. Guidance Classes Record Advice in iHub Ms. Kelly's 7th and 8th grade Guidance classes completed projects in the iHub this week with students recording audio clips in which they discuss their favorite stress management techniques. The classes used the Garage Band app to create introduction jingles for their audio clips and then they were put into the rotation on Ursuline's radio station, The Growl. The students enjoyed getting up to the iHub and practicing their radio skills! International Travel Trip to Italy June 2019 Spots are beginning to fill up for the Italy trip, "Urbs Aeterna: A study tour of Rome." On this trip, sophomores, juniors, and seniors will spend two weeks living in Rome, studying Theology or Latin in situ at sites like the Forum, Villa Borghese, and San Clemente. There will also be side trips to Florence, Pompeii, and Assisi. Interested students must apply to be selected for this opportunity.
