Kate Levesque '77 Commissioned as Ursuline's Next President

The Ursuline Academy community gathered together to celebrate and bless the presidency of Kathleen Nolan Levesque '77 at a joy- and music-filled Mass on Friday, December 7. The Mass was not only the formal beginning of Levesque's tenure, but was an affirmation of the spirit and mission of the Academy. Ursuline faculty, staff, students and families were joined by heads of brother and sister Catholic schools, Levesque's classmates from 1977 (see photo above) and other alumnae, local politicians and representatives from charitable and service organizations with whom Ursuline partners.  The crowd of approximately 650 filled the Reynolds Family Athletic & Convocation Center nearly to capacity, and the Ursuline Academy Choral Group and accompanists on piano, trumpet, violin, flute and box drum filled it with song. "Ubi Caritas" and "Canticle of the Turning" provided a poignant backdrop to the ceremony.  Click here to see video highlights.

Stay Connected!

Alumnae Directory Coming Soon!

We will soon be unveiling an online directory for all Ursuline alumnae. Owned and updated by you, the directory will be a useful tool for keeping in touch, getting back in touch, or reaching out to alumnae in your area or your professional field. The directory will only display information that you provide specifically for this purpose - not information you may have provided to Ursuline in the past. The more alumnae who opt into the directory by providing their information, the more effective it will be as a tool for you to reconnect with other Ursuline alumnae.

Click the button below to update your profile in the directory database. Once you submit your information, consider forwarding this email to a classmate who may have lost touch with the Academy.

Charlotte Marquis '13 Visits Junior Guidance Classes

Mrs. Ferrucci's 11th-grade guidance classes welcomed back to campus Dr. Charlotte Marquis '13 (pictured with Mrs. Ferrucci). Charlotte graduated from Edinburgh College in Scotland and is doing her veterinary work at a practice she started in Arizona. She gave an informative talk on her experience applying to colleges and choosing a school overseas. Her remarks to the juniors included sage advice about persistance. "The important thing is what happens after you fail and how you respond the next time." She encouraged the girls to cast a wide net as it will bring them to where they are meant to be.

In Memoriam

Sister Martin (Lucille Therese) Drouin, O.S.U., passed to eternal life on Dec. 28, 2018 at the age of 93. A resident of Ursuline communities in Maine and Massachusetts for many years, Sister Martin was known for her prayerful presence over the Dedham campus and its inhabitants. According to Principal Mary-Kate Tracy-Robidoux, "Sr. Martin would spend many hours in prayer each day and had a list of Ursuline family members and friends that she would pray for by name, unfailingly. Sr. Martin also possessed a keen memory, so once she knew that someone was ill or struggling, she would ask for a status update every time she saw you thereafter . . . it was as if she were tracking God's workings in our lives as a community of faith at Ursuline."
