Annual Women in Leadership Roundtable.

Four Ursuline Academy alumnae came back to campus today to speak with juniors and seniors about their career paths, including unexpected twists in their journeys, and memories of life at UA in years past. We deeply appreciative the time and thoughtful presentations of (l. to r.) Kara Hadge Prone '04, Anna McFadden '10, Juliana Blazuk '00 and Eileen Porro Mendes '95. The event coincided this year with International Women's Day, a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women.

Dangers of Vaping Presentation Scheduled for March 13
According to the CDC, more than 2 million middle and high school students were current users of e-cigarettes in 2017. We feel it is important to address and educate our students on this topic. On March 13, Grades 7-12 will attend a presentation given by Sydney Conti, UA '15 and currently a senior at Boston College/Connell School of Nursing, on the dangers of e-cigarettes, vaping, and juuling. Sydney created this presentation for adolescents as part of her course work at BC. She will address the students in Grades 7/8, 9/10, and 11/12 for 30 minutes each and Mrs. Ferrucci has reviewed her program. We will also review this topic in guidance classes during the week after Sydney's presentation. Mission Day this Thursday, March 14

Ursuline Academy will sponsor its annual Mission Day this Thursday, March 14. Mission Day is a day of fun, fund-raising activities structured to help those in need while uniting the Ursuline community together in support of a common goal. Funds raised on Mission Day are donated to Ursuline missions who serve the poor throughout the world, as well as to non-profit organizations run by our very own alumnae! Alumnae, family, and friends are welcome to join us for Mission Day! The Mission Day prayer service begins at 8:30 a.m. in the Reynolds Center for the Ursuline community and anyone who wishes to join us in reflection. Mission Day is a regular school day. Therefore, we do not suggest or encourage students from other schools to participate. Younger children are welcome provided they are supervised. Ursuline students are asked to arrive at school for the regularly scheduled start time. All parents received emails with more details about Mission Day and requested donations earlier this week.

 Athletics

Faculty and staff faced student-athletes after school today for their annual basketball competition in the Reynolds Center gym. The students won 60-56.

Monday, March 11 - Lacrosse, immediately after school in Reynolds Center
Tuesday, March 12 - Softball, during Activity Period in Reynolds Center
Wednesday, March 13 -Tennis and Golf, Reynolds Center at 3 p.m.
Friday, March 15 - Track and Field, during Activity Period in Reynolds Center

The Fitness Center is open to all on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday
this coming week from 3-5 p.m.

Registration is Open for the 27th Annual Fore the Girls Golf Tournament
Our Fore the Girls Golf Tournament is scheduled for Monday, June 3, at the Walpole Country Club. Click here for complete information about the event, including sponsorship and registration.
