Student Body Elections Juniors, it's time to think about how your class will lead the UA student body next year! Elections for Student Body President and Vice President will take place on Monday, April 29 during Activity Period. All candidates should have a sincere desire to connect with students in all grades and work closely with school administration for the betterment of our entire community. Junior Ring Ordering It's time for current grade 10 students to order their junior rings! The representative from Herff Jones will be here on Thursday and Friday, April 25 and 26, during activity period so that students can make initial payments and get sized.
International Crisis Club Hosting Collection Over the next few weeks, The International Crisis Club will be hosting a drive in partnership with the nonprofit organization Jasmine Grace. They will be collecting items such as tampons, pads, socks and toothpaste to show support of survivors of human trafficking here in Massachusetts. Please do your part by bringing in any items on the attached list. Each item you bring in is a grizzly grind point! Additionally, on Monday, during activity and first lunch, the club will be writing notes of encouragement to go along with all the items we collect. Please stop by to show your support. The day is a competition among high school Classics students from public and private schools across Massachusetts. Team Ursuline did exceptionally well this year. The lower division team (Brigid Ryan, Natalie Moran, Jennifer McGrail, Katherine Delaney, and Tegan Greene) placed second in the Certamen competition, while the upper division team (Natalie McGrail, Giovanna Ragusa, and Kathleen Ryan) won first place in the Manuscript Challenge. This year was the first time that Ursuline had a team invited to the Manuscript Challenge, which requires students to study a digitized Latin manuscript, transcribe it, translate it into English, and write an essay about their observations. Read more here. Taylor Phelan '11 Speaks to Sophomore Classes Taylor Phelan, from the class of 2011, visited the sophomore guidance classes on April 4th. She spoke about her experiences at Ursuline Academy and Boston College, emphasizing how her Ursuline education helped her throughout college and in the work force. She is currently working at Avison Young, a commercial real estate company in Boston (Taylor Phelan in photo with Lily Peyev, Libby Moore, Catherine Butera, and Lucy Reardon). Ursuline Sisters' Lacrosse Tournament Ursuline Academy will be hosting the annual Ursuline Sisters' Lacrosse Tournament next Friday and Saturday. Ursuline Schools from St. Louis; Wilmington, Delaware; and New Rochelle, New York will be arriving on Thursday and will be here until Sunday. Games will be played Friday afternoon and Saturday morning.
