Bear Essentials - Special Summer Edition: July 24, 2019 Bear Essentials this Summer
Welcome to the first edition of Bear Essentials for the 2019-20 school year. We hope all of our students and families are enjoying this time together. For those families who are new to Ursuline Academy, Bear Essentials is distributed each week during the school year, as well as a couple of times during the summer. Bear Essentials serves as an important source of information about life at Ursuline Academy. Note: We send Bear Essentials to the "primary email" that we have on file in the school office. If you would like to have it sent to an additional email, please send a note to the Director of Communications by replying to this email. Also, be sure to add info@UrsulineAcademy.myenotice.com to your address book or trusted contacts to make sure the newsletter does not get intercepted by spam filters.

Reminders for New Families
Parking Permits for Seniors and Juniors Information about parking permits for Seniors and Juniors will be communicated in August. Seniors, if you can legally carpool with friends who live nearby, if you do not anticipate that you will drive yourself to school every day, or if you do not have a car that you will be able to drive each day of school, please reconsider applying for a parking permit as demand for spaces is very high this year. Juniors, please note that due to limited space and building restrictions, you are not guaranteed a parking spot for next year. Please make arrangements in advance in case you do not receive a spot.
Senior Yearbook Photo Appointments Yearbook portrait sittings for seniors will be held on campus on August 14 and 20. Click here for information from O'Connor Studios requesting you to set up an appointment. Note: Students are required to have their yearbook photo taken through O'Connor Studios for a nominal fee. Optional portrait packages are available for an additional charge.
New Food Service This fall, Ursuline will be working with a new food service provider. Please do not add funds to your daughters' existing lunch accounts. If you have funds remaining on last year's lunch account, however, they will be transferred to the new food service. More information will be provided about the new program in the coming weeks.
Transportation Please note that bus routes are being finalized and more information will be forthcoming. Those families who are interested in carpooling are encouraged to send a request by using Ursuline's Carpool Request Form by August 1.
Health and Allergy Forms Ursuline school nurse Heather Smart reminds parents that physical health forms for all new students and all sophomores need to be submitted by Aug 1. Click here to review all health form requirements and to download allergy/epi-pen forms. Athletics Fall Tryouts Fall team sports tryouts begin on August 22 for cross country, field hockey, soccer, swimming & diving, and volleyball. Students in Grades 7 through 12 may try out for a sport. In order to be considered for any team, a student must attend tryout sessions. In order to participate in fall tryouts, all athletes need to submit the necessary paperwork by August 2, 2019. ImPact Testing All students interested in trying out for a fall sport need to have ImPact testing done. The testing will be offered at Ursuline Academy on August 20 and 21. To schedule an appointment or get more info, contact Ms. Kim Munsey at kmunsey@ursulineacademy.net. If you had testing done this past year, you do not have to do it again. Test results are good for two years.
