March 16, 2020
Dear Ursuline Families,
In keeping with our earlier plans for a Professional Development Day on Friday, March 20, there will be no classes for students that day.
Over the next several weeks, we pledge to stay in close communication with you. Our hope is that we settle into a pattern that mirrors our life on Lowder Street, in which our students and families regularly hear from many different voices within the Ursuline community. Your daughter's teachers will be in regular contact with her; she will also hear regularly from Mary-Kate Tracy (Principal) and Natalie Mayo (Dean of Students), as well as our Campus Ministers, Jess Morrison and Corinne Murphy, and our Counseling staff of Mary Ferrucci, Jessie Jones, and Ann Scott. We are here to support your daughter and our community through this challenging time and recognize that strong communication will be essential to our shared well-being.
In the event that your daughter or an immediate family member tests positive for the COVID-19 virus in the coming weeks, we ask that you notify Heather Smart, our school nurse, hsmart@ursulineacademy.net, as soon as possible. Personal health information will be kept strictly confidential.
You've heard it countless times, but bear with us as we reinforce the message. Please be sure to follow best practices for reducing the spread of the coronavirus and other illness, specifically:
In closing, I share with you Mary-Kate Tracy's beautiful words to our students this morning:
"With rising levels of anxiety in the world, it's so important to remember that the God we put our faith in is bigger than our fears. Hold on to one another (virtually, since we're social distancing) and keep the faith! We are not alone. We have each other, and we have a God who promises to remain with us no matter what."
Don't be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. - Isaiah 41:10
With prayers for the well-being of all,
Kate Levesque
