September 4, 2020 Back-to-School Days All students, separated by grade, are required to attend a three-hour Back-to-School Day in the Reynolds Center in the coming week. Students' only Ursuline requirement this week is this one half-day on campus with their grade. Please note: For the Back-to-School Days, students are asked to wear their school uniform skirt and white polo with insignia; the blazer is not required. (If insignia polo is back-ordered at JB Pride, a plain white polo may be worn alternatively.) Click here for full uniform guidelines for the regular school year.
Please pay close attention to the schedule, as the grades are not in order by day.
Tuesday, September 8
Thursday, September 10 Grade 9: 8 - 11 a.m.
Spirit Wear orders for all students: All orders (see details below) placed by Monday, September 7, may be picked up at Back to School Days next week. Available Spirit Wear merchandise includes sweatshirts, long-sleeved t-shirts, baseball caps, and other items.
Return to Campus Daily Wellness Check Requirement Primary to our efforts to minimize the effects of the COVID-19 virus on our community is our requirement that all students submit our Wellness Check form each morning before coming to campus. Please use the Ursuline Wellness Check (bit.ly/uawellcheck) before sending your daughter to school each day. More information on the wellness check is provided in the Ursuline Health Protocol Guide, along with helpful information on what to do if your daughter becomes ill. Returning to Campus Fall 2020 All families should have received an email from Ms. Levesque and Ms. Tracy last week detailing our plan for returning to school. If you did not receive the email, you can read it here. E-text Code Submission Procedure
Student Class Schedule Update Important Dates A tentative calendar with important dates for the 2020-21 school year has been released for parents. Click here to view the calendar. These dates are also listed in the school calendar on the home page of our web site, ursulineacademy.net. Student Directory Our Student Directory for 2020-2021 will be posted to the parent portal next week. This may be useful for those families who are interested in carpooling. If anyone has any questions or does not wish to be published in the directory, please contact Ms. Sharon Tolland at stolland@ursulineacademy.net by the end of day on Tuesday, September 8.
Nurse's Reminders School Nurse Heather Smart sent an important email to all families this morning with details of all health-related requirements for students this year. Requirements include proof of physical for all new students, immunizations for grade 11 students, and allergy notification forms. Please review the information in this email carefully.
UA Health/Emergency Contact Form As detailed by Mrs. Smart, all students must have emergency contact forms on file in the nurse's office. Please complete this UA health/emergency contact form, print it, and send it to school with your daughter next week on her back-to-school day. This form must be on file at Ursuline in order for your daughter to participate in the Bear Cave Days.
Flu Vaccination Per the state of Massachusetts, all students need to receive the seasonal influenza (flu) vaccine by December 31, 2020. The new vaccine requirement is an important step to reduce flu-related illness and the overall impact of respiratory illness during the COVID-19 pandemic. Please send proof of vaccination to the school nurse when your daughter receives the vaccine.
Safety Protocol Face Masks Masks must be worn when on campus at all times and may only be taken off during designated mask breaks. All students, faculty, staff, and visitors are expected to wear a school appropriate mask without writing, characters, or large logos. Masks may be any color, a mixture of colors, or have a pattern. All masks must cover both the nose and mouth all day. Bandanas, scarves, or gaiters are not permitted. Ursuline will provide each student with two cloth masks, which they may wear if they choose. Students will be required to have a spare mask available in their backpack should it be needed. We ask that masks be laundered nightly.
Emphasize to your daughter the importance of handwashing with soap and water for at least 20 seconds; if handwashing is not possible, utilize hand sanitizer and rub until dry for about 20 seconds.
