Dear Ursuline Families,
We hope you're enjoying a wonderful Christmas break and have had the chance to have some fun with family.
As we prepare to return to school on Monday, January 4, it is more essential than ever that we work together to stay healthy. In response to recently updated guidance from the CDC, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH), and the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), we have revised the Ursuline Health Protocol Guide. We ask all students and families to adhere to the health and safety protocols, especially the following:
Not feeling well? Stay home. If you're experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms (here's the list), stay home. Remember, COVID-19 shares many of the symptoms of the common cold. If you're not feeling well, stay home, consult your healthcare provider, and get tested.
Been away? Be sure you can come back to school. If you have traveled out of state over the Christmas break, it is important that you closely follow the required Massachusetts travel order. This mandated protocol involves either an at-home quarantine for 10 days or a negative COVID test up to 72 hours prior to your return to Massachusetts. You should attend classes remotely if you are fulfilling these quarantine requirements.
Been near someone who's tested positive for COVID-19? You've got some things to do before you return to campus. If you have been identified as a close contact of someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, you must follow the protocol as required by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. You'll find it on page 6 of the Ursuline Health Protocol Guide.
In any of the above cases, be sure to contact Ursuline (781-801-1589) and let us know the reason why you're not returning to campus. Good communication is key to helping us manage the school during these uncertain times. And don't forget: wear your mask, stay physically distanced, and wash your hands. Every small preventive measure you take protects not only you, but those around you too.
Enjoy the remainder of the break -- curl up with a book, play a board game, surprise someone with an unexpected kindness. We look forward to welcoming you back to school next week.
Wishing you and your family a blessed New Year of health and peace, Kate Levesque President Mary-Kate Tracy Principal |
