November 5, 2021 Community Voices: A Message from the Technology Team Dear Parents and Guardians,
What a beautiful fall season we are having, both inside and outside! It is such a pleasure to see the girls each day working hard at their studies, clubs, and athletics. October was Cybersecurity Awareness Month and we spent a lot of time on Cybersecurity Training with our faculty and staff via online training sessions, simulated email phishing campaigns and even online quizzes! Click on the links below to find detailed information to help keep you safe online, whether at home or on the road.
Turn on Multi-Factor Authentication
Protect Yourself From Phishing Emails
We also communicate with our students via email and in the daily Bear Necessities to keep them updated on email scams, security updates for their devices and best practices for online safety. All devices - Windows, Apple or Android based platforms - require constant attention to software updates and patches. When critical security updates are announced, we give shout outs to the students during the day to remind them to download these updates. Feel free to email support@ursulineacademy.net if you have questions or would like further information.
Thank you. Susan Penella, Executive Director of Technology Charlie Kotsiopoulos, Director of Information Services

Athletics Updates Cross Country: Good luck to those participating in the Coaches Invitational tomorrow in Wrentham. The team had their end-of-season dinner last night and Coaches Rego and McNally acknowledged and thanked the 15 seniors who participated this year. The team finished the season with a second place finish, but as Coach Rego said, it was great to be back to a normal season, participating in not only league races but the Invitationals and the Barnstable Twilight meet. The Varsity team's top three runners and league All Stars this year were Brigid Ryan, Sara Lessard, and Lily King. The Junior Varsity had strong performances this year led by Maggie Lanagan, Noelle Gatha, Caroline Kisgen, and Sofia Leimkuehler. The team was also acknowledged for their sportsmanship.
Winter Sports
Basketball: We had a great turnout at the informational meeting for basketball and have 74 girls signed up to participate. After much discussion with the coaches, it was determined we will have Varsity, Junior Varsity and Junior High teams. We will also have an Intramural program. We have decided this so that we can accommodate every girl who signed up for basketball and help those who may not make one of the teams but still want to participate and improve their skills and love for the game. There will be a meeting this coming Tuesday at 3:45 p.m. in the Reynolds Center for all high school students in Grades 9-12 with the Varsity coaches to discuss what they expect this year.
Fitness Center Schedule All students are encouraged to use the Fitness Center during the open time slots, whether they are on a team or not. The Fitness Center Schedule for this week is Monday November 8: 3-5 p.m., Tuesday, November 9: 3-4 p.m., and Wednesday November 10: 3-5 p.m.
