Community Voices: A Message from the Principal | Dear Parents and Students, I hope that you all had a joyous Easter and a restful vacation. As you know, the end of the year is normally filled with a number of events, but this year there are even more than usual since some ceremonies were postponed when we embraced stiffer COVID-19 restrictions. I have compiled this list of all of the events and special schedules, along with descriptions, so that everyone is aware of when events will take place and the expectations for students. The next month includes a number of events that are traditions at Ursuline and some new ones as well. We have added programming on Wednesdays in May to allow our students to do team building, community service, and/or college application preparation. During those days, faculty members will be doing a deep dive into the curriculum in their departments. We are calling them Wonderful Wednesdays and we hope they will live up to their name. Parents will receive invitations for the special events taking place in the Reynolds Center (Academic Awards, Honor Society Inductions, and 8th Grade Move-Up) so that they can attend in person. These events will also be livestreamed for those who wish to view the ceremonies from home. As always, please reach out to me if you have questions. | | | Data Electronics Recycling Event on Saturday The UA Tech Team and the student-run Green Club will be hosting their first Data Electronics Recycling event this Saturday, April 30, 2022. The Green Club is fundraising for waste reduction initiatives for the school. For $10 per vehicle, you can stop by 85 Lowder Street between 9 a.m. and noon, and drop off any items from this approved list. Donations must be cash or checks. Items will have their data erased following DOD protocols. The partnered recycling company has been vetted by the UA Tech department and adheres to the Responsible Recycling (R2) Standard. This standard provides a common set of processes, safety measures, and documentation requirements for businesses that repair and recycle used electronics.

The time for each exam is approximately 3 1/2 hours and students are required to remain in the exam room until they are dismissed by the proctor. | Senior Celebration Information All seniors and senior parents should have received an email earlier this month detailing the events and activities that are scheduled between now and commencement on June 5th. Transportation and Officials - Shortage As is the case with many schools, our bus company is still having issues with a shortage of drivers. We will do everything we can to make sure the games are played on the days they are scheduled. The girls and coaches have been very understanding and we appreciate their flexibility. There is also a shortage of officials, which is something we can't control. If a game is postponed, the girls will still have practice and the game will be rescheduled. Fall Sports 2022 The fall sports season will begin with tryouts the week of August 22nd. We will be having informational meetings on the fall sports in the next few weeks.
