Community Voices: A Message from the Principal Dear Parents and Guardians, This week was an exciting one on campus! This weekend and next week will round out a fabulous 2021-22 school year. On Tuesday, we celebrated our 8th graders moving up to 9th grade. On Thursday, we recognized students who were inducted into various honor societies, received college-sponsored book awards, and who had scored well on national exams, and today the students celebrated the seniors. It is heart-warming to have the seniors back on campus. I just walked through the senior service fair, and without a doubt, the breadth of service opportunities the students found was wonderful and they all seemed to really connect with their service projects. Finally, this weekend we will enjoy Baccalaureate Mass and Commencement. It is a busy week, but a fun week nonetheless. While these celebrations have taken place, our sports teams have been continuing on with their fabulous seasons. While the track season is done, all of our other teams are moving on to tournament play. The golf team started their tournament play this week, coming in second in the North/Central/West Sectionals, and they advance to the State Tournament on Tuesday, June 7th. I hope that you all will be able to join me in cheering our student-athletes on as they continue to represent Ursuline Academy across the state. Once this weekend is over, we will be working through exams next week. As students prepare, I hope that we can present the exams as an opportunity to show what they have learned throughout the year. Doing well on exams takes practice and the process of planning, studying, and working through an exam are good skills for our students to learn. While some amount of stress before an exam is reasonable, please know that these exams are just one part of the overall grade and their teachers have prepared them well for these assessments. As this academic year comes to a close, I want to thank you for welcoming me into the Ursuline community. It has been wonderful to get to know the young women of Ursuline and to see how well they present themselves in everything that they do. It has also been a pleasure to meet so many dedicated and loving parents who support their daughters and the school. Additionally, I have really enjoyed being introduced to all of the traditions at Ursuline and I hope that I remember them as I begin my second year! I hope that everyone has a restful and rejuvenating summer and I look forward to seeing everyone either this weekend, at a game or match, eating ice cream at a farm stand during the summer, or when we are ready to go next fall. All the best, |
Congratulations to the Class of 2022! |
