Denim and Diamonds
Celebrating Strong Young Women
with Hearts that Shine!
For the first time in its twelve-year history, this year's Brescia Ball was held on the Ursuline Campus in the recently opened Reynolds Family Athletic & Convocation Center. The theme of Denim and Diamonds lent itself to a more casual yet elegant atmosphere than past Brescia Balls, and placed the spotlight squarely on Ursuline students, who sparkled as they provided vocal entertainment for the guests, and whose educational experience will benefit from the proceeds earned.
Guests enjoyed cocktails on the track overlooking the gym floor, which had been transformed into a western-style cafe with a bluegrass band and casual seating including high tops and couches to relax on. A variety of food stations provided dinner choices to please everyone. From parents of current students to recent and not-so-recent alumnae, guests agreed that the set-up lent to a more fun and festive atmosphere than a traditional sit-down dinner.
A special thank you goes to the hard work of the committee members - Julie Steinkrauss, Kitty McDonald, Elizabeth King, Tracey Finch, and Sandra Giordano - as well as all of our sponsors, auction item donors, and volunteers. Without them, this event would not happen!
The Ursuline Brescia Ball, an annual gala named for the birthplace of St. Angela Merici, provides a time for members of the community to come together for an evening of fun, charitable support and to honor those who are committed to the Ursuline tradition of Serviam: “I will serve.”
As the school’s largest fundraiser, the Brescia Ball relies on support from our families, alumnae and friends. All proceeds from Denim and Diamonds will support Ursuline's educational experience.
