Ursuline's Choral Group, under the direction of Susan Glancy, earned a silver medal for its performance at the MICCA Concert Festival (Massachusetts Instrumental and Choral Conductors Association) on March 25. This is the group's second silver medal in as many trips to MICCA. This year, over 102 choirs participated in two venues. During the festival, choirs perform three pieces and are adjudicated using a set of rubrics. Though it is not a competition, performers have an opportunity to receive feedback from the highly qualified adjudicators, as well as a 20 minute clinic following their performance. The pieces the group sang were The Seal Lullaby by Eric Whitacre, Pie Jesu by Michael McGlynn, and Praise His Holy Name by Keith Hampton. "I am so proud of the Choral Group and feel blessed to work with such talented and dedicated students," offered Mrs. Glancy.
