Elaine Pagliarulo ’93

Elaine Pagliarulo ’93 was a standout member and captain of UA’s varsity basketball, soccer, and softball teams. Among her many accolades during her high school career are Softball Catholic Conference All-Star, Basketball Catholic Conference All-Star, three-time Catholic Conference Basketball leading scorer, four-time Dedham Daily Transcript Basketball All-Star, and first player in Ursuline history to score 1,000 points. After a BA from Providence College in social work, Elaine earned a Masters of Education in school guidance counseling and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in school adjustment counseling from UMass Boston. In addition to a career as assistant principal and guidance counselor at South Middle School in Braintree, and as program supervisor at the West Roxbury Community Center, Elaine has spent much of her adult life coaching. She returned to Ursuline as an assistant varsity basketball coach during the 2000–2001 basketball season, and served as varsity basketball coach at Mt. Alvernia High School from 2004–08 (during which time she was named 2006 Boston Globe Coach of the Year). Elaine was the associate women’s basketball coach at Emerson College from 2008 to 2018.
