Ursuline Academy is an independent, Catholic, college preparatory school for young women in grades 7-12. Founded in 1946, Ursuline Academy in Dedham operates under the sponsorship of the international network of Ursuline Sisters, the oldest religious teaching order devoted to the education of young women.

Admissions

Our Admissions team welcomes families for tours throughout the year, and we sponsor events designed for students to explore our campus, sit in on classes, and to get to know our community. Ours is a holistic approach to knowing each student as we review qualifications for admissions. ACADEMICS

Ursuline Academy offers a rigorous program of study designed to challenge and inspire students, and our faculty encourage their love of learning, reading, and scholarly exploration in the pursuit of truth. Our graduates are fully prepared to study, analyze, and communicate persuasively to meet the challenges of university work.

LIVING THE MISSION

The values of an Ursuline education– a Catholic education– were established centuries ago when Saint Angela Merici dedicated her life to forming a company of young women engaged in bettering their communities. At Ursuline, we challenge our students to live lives of integrity that reflect the principles of Catholic social teaching, and to be Christ to one another in today’s world. Every gift we receive helps us stay true our mission to educate young women to live their lives with respect, compassion, intellectual curiosity, and a commitment to service.

The heart of the mission of Ursuline Academy is guiding our students to be women of integrity who engage in their communities with purpose and presence. The dedicated faculty and staff at Ursuline work tirelessly to achieve this aim, but they do not work alone. Alumnae, parents and friends of Ursuline have long partnered with us in the pursuit of this mission through their generous support of the Academy.

Our students are well-equipped by their Ursuline experiences to take on the world, but providing this excellent education comes at a price that tuition alone does not cover. Three major fundraising endeavors, the Fund for Ursuline, the Ursuline Gala, and the Fore the Girls Golf Tournament supplement the cost of an Ursuline education and ensure that Ursuline Academy can continue to promote the mission and values of St. Angela Merici and the Ursuline Sisters.

The Fund for Ursuline

The Fund for Ursuline is the largest fundraising vehicle of Ursuline Academy and the main source of philanthropic support. Gifts to the fund are put to use immediately and allow the Academy to continue to provide educational excellence in a way that allows innovation and meets the needs of changing times. You can strengthen the impact of your gift by choosing to give a recurring amount each month.

Your Fund for Ursuline gift will:

Help maintain and improve curriculum
Hold down the cost of tuition
Provide instructional materials and support services
Assist Ursuline Academy in its goal of justly compensating our dedicated faculty and staff

An Evening for Ursuline

An Evening for Ursuline, Ursuline’s annual Gala, is held each fall, and is the largest fundraising event for the Academy. The funds raised support the scholarship and financial aid programs at the Academy and are critical to the success of our school. The event includes the presentation of the Spirit of Saint Angela Alumnae Award, which was established to honor alumnae whose life, work, and dedication to the service of others demonstrate a strong integration of the Ursuline mission with the courage, kindness, and humility of Saint Angela.

Fore the Girls Golf Tournament

The Fore the Girls Golf Tournament is the second largest fundraising event at the Academy. For over 30 years, members of the Ursuline community have come together to play an afternoon of golf, followed by a cocktail reception, silent auction, and awards banquet where we celebrate our student-athletes and tournament honorees. All proceeds support Ursuline's athletic program.
