Visual & Performing Arts

The study of the arts at Ursuline Academy is rooted in the philosophy that the arts are crucial to appreciating beauty and to understanding the human condition. We also firmly believe that performing and visual art skills can be taught — that there is no such thing as a person without any artistic aptitude. To that end, opportunities are available for students of any skill level to maximize their potential through the formal study of drawing, painting, or singing. A range of clubs and ensembles are available for students to practice and display their talents, whether their interest lies in dance, theatre, music, or the fine arts.

Each year in April, students have an opportunity to showcase their talents in the visual and performing arts at our "Festival of the Arts" celebration.  The evening begins with an exhibit of student artwork and concludes with performances by Ursuline's vocal and instrumental groups.

Music

Ursuline Academy offers a robust music education program and four music performance groups: the Choral Group, the Glee Club, the Bearitones (Ursuline's student-run a capella group), and the Chamber Ensemble.
