Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to attend each tryout session?
Yes. The more the coaches see an athlete, the better her chances of making a team.
Are there cuts?
The number of athletes trying out for each specific sport will determine if there are cuts. Coaches can carry a limited number of athletes on each team. Historically, the running sports do NOT have cuts (Cross Country, Winter and Spring Track and Field).
Can I try out for more than one sport?
No, an athlete can only try out for one sport per season. In the event an athlete does not make her first choice sport, she has the option to join the season’s running sport (Cross Country, Winter and Spring Track and Field).
Is there transportation to offsite venues for practices and games?
Yes. Once school begins, we do provide transportation to the Dedham pool or fields that we use for practice for days that school is in session.

Spring Tryout Information
Spring team sports offered at Ursuline Academy include Golf, Lacrosse, Softball, Tennis, and Track & Field. Students in Grades 7 through 12 may try out for a sport. A limited number of juniors may be considered for a Junior Varsity team at the coaching staff’s discretion. Participation in a sport at any level previously, or attendance at any camp or clinic, does not guarantee a student a place on a team. In order to be considered for any team, a student should attend tryout sessions.
Please note: Dates and times are subject to change.
Inhaler/Epi Pen note: Any athlete who needs an inhaler or Epi Pen must have it with her.
